CEE designed and installed this 20,000cfm fume scrubbing system for collecting fumes from molten salt pots at a major heat treating company. This system replaced an existing dust collection system that had side draft hoods and a pulse-jet bag house. The existing system was undersized and the filter bags required frequent replacement resulting in a continuous smoke filled environment for our customer's employee's. We provided a complete turnkey installation including design, fabrication, installation and startup. The installation was coordinated so that only one salt pot was shut down at a time, minimizing the impact on our customer's production schedule.

The 2,000 cfm packed bed scrubber shown is installed downstream of a regenerative thermal oxidizer at a chemical manufacturing facility. The scrubber removes hydrobromic acid gas created during the thermal oxidation of brominated hydrocarbons and was furnished with an integral quench to reduce the air temperature form 300F to less than 120F. The scrubber has 3 stages of polypropylene mesh packing which provides 99%+ destruction efficiency.
The scrubber has an integral pump and was furnished with a PH control system which monitors the scrubbing solution and automatically adds sodium hydroxide as required
The scrubber housing and internals are fabricated from Hastelloy C276.
